SG133

£85,000.00

1 in stock

A true legend of British and world philately, offered in remarkable quality.

This 1882 £5 Orange on blued paper is a Post Office fresh, perfectly centred unmounted mint example displaying true, strong blueing together with the characteristic lighter orange shade associated with this adhesive. A David Brandon certificate accompanies. A unicorn of Great Britain and world philately, it is almost certainly the finest copy in existence, many reported examples being merely fortuitously on slightly blued paper within the white paper period. Simply magnificent in every respect.
