A fantastic transitional strip that perfectly illustrates how a value omission arose.
This full lower sheet-marginal positional strip of the 1966 Tristan da Cunha Churchill Commemoration 1d shows the first stamp with its value omitted, while the adjoining stamps display a dramatic misplacement of the gold bearing the value and territory title. The ‘missing’ value can be seen in the right margin, together with an omission of the gold control square and a shift of the gold cylinder 1B. Post Office fresh and unmounted mint, it is a fantastic transitional piece which perfectly illustrates how this error occurred. A David Brandon Certificate accompanies.
