This 1840 1d Mulready envelope was addressed to Highgate, London, and carries a blue straight-line ‘TOOLEY STREET’ hand-stamp. It is neatly cancelled by a Maltese Cross in deep red, with a ’13 MY 1840′ back-stamp placing it within the very earliest days of the issue. A delightful and desirable envelope.
