This 1840 1d Mulready lettersheet was used to Carshalton, cancelled by a red Maltese Cross. Alongside sits an additional boxed red ‘T.P. Saville P. Lane’ hand-stamp, with a ‘JY 20 1840’ back-stamp confirming its early date of use. An attractive and characterful example of the issue.
