This 1840 2d Mulready letter sheet passed from Cheltenham to Gloucester and is offered superb used, neatly cancelled by a Maltese Cross in red with a ‘CHELTENHAM JU 26 1840’ circular datestamp struck alongside. That early June date places it among the earliest usages of Mulready stationery. Rare and attractive, it is an entire of considerable historical importance.
