A remarkable Mulready entire, richly documented by a wealth of contemporary postal markings.
This 1840 2d Mulready letter sheet travelled from Northleach to Warwick, its front bearing no fewer than seven ‘1844 type’ cancellations together with a ‘WARWICK DE 20 1847’ arrival marking. The reverse carries a ‘NORTHLEACH DE 18 1847’ back-stamp in black and a ‘CHELTENHAM DE 18 1847’ back-stamp in blue, providing a vivid record of its journey through the Victorian mails. A remarkable and historically evocative example.
