A charming mourning envelope distinguished by the scarce Maltese Cross in blue.

This small, clean mourning envelope of 4th January 1843 travelled from Truro to St. Ives, bearing a 1d Red-Brown on blued paper of Plate 21, neatly struck with the Maltese Cross in blue. A matching ‘TRURO JA 4 1843’ circular date-stamp in blue appears alongside, and a David Brandon Certificate accompanies. Pretty.
