A unique positional imperforate piece, celebrated in the literature as a major British rarity.
This 1887 ½d Vermilion is a very fine unmounted mint upper-right sheet horizontal pair, imperforate throughout, and stands as the unique positional piece. The right-hand stamp shows some light creasing, as is normally seen, in no way diminishing its stature. Ex Latto and illustrated in his work Imperforate Surface Printed Stamps of Great Britain, it is a magnificent item.
