This 1d greyish-black of Plate XI, lettered B-J, is a neat and immaculately clean entire carried from ‘Ambleside AU 13 1841’ to Kendal, bearing an extremely fine, large-margined example of this rare plate in vivid, true colour. It is backstamped ‘Ambleside’ (despatch) and ‘Kendal’ (arrival), both struck in blue. A Karl Louis analysis together with Merkur and David Brandon Certificates accompany.
