A celebrated colour-omission error, one of the great modern rarities of Australian philately.
This right sheet-marginal horizontal strip of six of the 1977 Performing Arts 40c presents the end stamp with the black entirely omitted, taking with it both the face value and the inscription, while the adjoining stamp displays a striking partial omission. Preserved Post Office fresh and unmounted mint, it ranks among the true rarities of the series, with just ten copies discovered from the right columns of two affected panes. The strip carries the distinguished provenance of the Sir Gawaine Baillie collection.
