This upper-right corner block of four of the 1935 Falkland Islands 1/- Slate and Purple derives from Vignette 3 and shows the sought-after ‘Lightning Conductor’ variety on the lower stamp (R.2/5), the block brilliant and fresh with the variety itself unmounted. A maximum of just ninety-four examples were possible from the August 1935 printing, the greater part of which passed into use, and it is accompanied by a BPA certificate. A rarity in any form or condition, this is the first we have been able to offer in many years.
