This 1840 1d Intense Black from Plate IV, lettered J-G, is an extremely fine used example with large margins on all sides. It is neatly cancelled by a Maltese Cross in vermilion-red, a coloured obliteration much admired by collectors of the line-engraved issues. A lovely stamp.
