This 1840 1d Intense Black from Plate VI, lettered C-J, is a very fine and fresh mint example retaining part original gum, presenting strong colour with fair to good margins on all sides. A light vertical crease is present but is not apparent from the front, in no way detracting from its appealing appearance. Both David Brandon and Royal Certificates accompany this good-looking stamp.
