This 1840 2d letter sheet was sent from Oswestry to Ireland and is neatly cancelled by a Maltese Cross struck in red. It is back-stamped ‘OSWESTRY JA 5 1841’ in red, placing it firmly within the earliest period of use. A rare and attractive entire that will reward the collector of early postal history.
