This lower marginal vertical strip of three from column five of the sheet carries the ‘1A (x4)’ plate number in the lower margin, the bottom stamp showing the major error of the grey-blue hull omitted. A massive upward shift of the grey-blue printing has left the two stamps above with hulls misplaced below the ship, and has carried the ‘1A’ grey-blue plate number up into the upper centre of the error stamp itself. Post Office fresh unmounted mint, this is the unique positional piece of a huge rarity of which just five copies were discovered.
